GEM Missionary Roles
We believe our missionaries are more than just employees - they're real partners in ministry. As partners, GEM missionaries have a big role to play. While each missionary has a specific job, like being a 4th grade teacher, teaching middle school math or working on the office side of the school, all of our missionaries get to have a critical role in helping create more opportunities for the gospel to be made known around the world.
In order to see this happen, each of our missionaries, despite their specific job, will help spread the gospel in ALL FIVE of the following ways:
Teacher
Make an eternal impact on your students as you plant seeds of the Gospel and lead them into a relationship with Jesus.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to have a teaching degree to serve with Global Education Ministries?
Yes and no. It depends on the job. Most of our main, classroom teachers will need to have a teaching degree. However, we do have certain teaching positions that do not require a teaching degree.
Do I need to speak another language?
It depends on the school you serve at. Global Education Ministries has several different kinds of gospel-saturated schools. If you teach at an English immersion school, you will not need to learn another language to teach there. However, if you are teaching at a school where most of the content is taught in a language other than English, you would need to have experience in that language before serving there.
Does every GEM Missionary fundraise? If so, how much?
Yes! The amount that each GEM missionary fundraises varies based on the location where they are serving. Every missionary will have fundraising training and accountability while walking through the process of fundraising.
What jobs do you have available right now?
The available jobs vary from school to school. We are always looking for passionate followers of Jesus that are gifted educators. Additionally, any good school or ministry has needs in other supporting areas. If you're interested in learning more about certain available positions, please email us today at serve@globaleducationministries.org
How long are the contracts for GEM Missionaries?
GEM Missionary contracts initially start as a 2-year contract. We believe this allows our missionaries to have time to adequately adjust to life cross-culturally while also allowing for time to see some fruit from their ministry. However, everyone does not leave after two years. We love to see our missionaries stay and serve past their initial 2-year contract!
How can I learn more about being a GEM Missionary without applying quite yet?
We would love to chat with you, whether via email or on the phone, to get to know you, share more about our ministry, and answer any questions you may have. To learn more please email us today at: serve@globaleducationministries.org
