Heather to Mexico!

When I was in the 7th Grade I felt the call to missions while on a World Changer’s Mission Trip. Ever since then I have been trying to get involved in local missions and even some abroad to try and learn everything I can about missions and how we can work together to spread God’s love.

I have also been prayerfully making decisions to help equip me to be the missionary I feel God has called me to be by going to school to be a teacher. I love working with students and I really have a passion for middle school-aged teens and pre-teens. I find that they are usually the ones who need the most love and attention but may not always get it, so I love to work with them and love on them while trying to help them grow.

I recently graduated from Bluefield College in Virginia with my teacher licensure and was offered a job with GEM. I’m so very excited to begin my journey with GEM because I’ve been following their schools for several years now and even got to go visit one of the schools on a mission trip two years ago. I’ve been praying for God to lead me where He wants me to be and I feel like it led me to Global Education Ministries.

Moving to a new place with people you don’t really know sounds scary and intimidating, but I’m so excited about it! I know that God wouldn’t have asked me to do this, nor given me the opportunity to if it wasn’t going to be amazing. I’m so grateful for the chance to serve God in such a big way and to be able to use my talents and abilities to do it! I feel like God gave me a passion for teenagers and children and a love for working with them. I’m so blessed to have the opportunity to use those passions and skills in a job that I know is going to be a blessing in my life and that I hope will be for others as well!
